However, there are certain stars that undergo a metamorphosis to become a new start. One such example is Neutron star. Neutron stars are formed when giant stars lose their life energy and compress within it.

The Neutron Star

The massive compression of the star causes all the protons and electrons to crush and merge with each other, creating only the neutron element. The extensive compression is far beyond what we can imagine. For example, if the star were as big as our Earth, it would compress itself into a mountain. Similarly, if the star were as big as our sun, it would compress itself into the size of Earth. Due to the immense compression, the formation of neutron star is interlinked to all its components. For example, imagine a ball of magnets. When you move a certain magnet from its place, it would displace the entire ball due to its magnetism.

Pulsars are rotating starts that emit radiation beams at regular intervals. The beams are only visible if they are directly in your line of sight, therefore, they are hard to detect. Pulsar PSR J1748−2446ad is the fastest spinning pulsar that spins 716 times in a second or 716 Hz. The star for was first identified on November 10th, 2004 by Jason W. T. Hessels of McGill University. The star is located approximately 18 thousand light years away from earth. The radius of the star is roughly 16 Km. The spin rate at its equator is 70,000 Km per second, which is roughly one fourth of the speed of light.
